Dune HD Base 3D doesn't play HEVC files? Solved!

Dune HD Base 3D is made for anyone with a large digital media library and movie playback on Dune HD Base 3D is possible in many ways. You can install a 3.5-inch hard disk drive in the HD Base 3D, then you can put up with movies and series including those over the network or via USB. Dune HD Base 3D Supported Video Formats

From Dune HD Base 3D's user manual, we find that like many other streaming media player, Dune HD Base 3D only supported limited video formats and codecs, including:

Video codecs: MPEG2, MPEG4, XVID, WMV9, VC1, H.264; support for very high bitrate video (up to 50 MBit/s and higher)


Audio codecs: AC3 (Dolby Digital), DTS, MPEG, AAC, LPCM, WMA, WMAPro, EAC3 (Dolby Digital Plus), Dolby True HD, DTS HD High Resolution Audio, DTS HD Master Audio, FLAC, multichannel FLAC, Ogg/Vorbis; support for very high quality audio (up to 192 kHz / 24-bit)

Audio file formats: MP3, MPA, M4A, WMA, FLAC, APE (Monkey’s Audio), WV Pack, Ogg/Vorbis, WAV, AC3, AAC

Simple Guide on converting H.265/HEVC to H.264

Step 1: Import H.265/HEVC files

3. Download Mede8er created Profile 3000kbbs or 2000kbbs depending on your quality needs. (2000kbbs should be adequate for most content but if you fussy and want the best then use the 3000kbbs)


To Begin:

1. Choose your HEVC file to encode on the main window and choose the "High Profile" preset to base your settings off of. It is important to first pick the "High Profile" preset and then go to the settings window to make your changes.


2. In "High Profile" window, select MKV from Container drop-down list. Under Video Tab, select H.264(x264) as video codec.


3. Click on "save as..." at the top of the settings window to save your settings for future use.

4. Go back to the main interface, click "Encode" button to start H.265 to H.264 conversion process.
